# Inference

> An OpenAI-compatible gateway to 69 models, authenticated with a bearer key and metered in credits against one billing account.

dev.fun Inference is an **OpenAI-compatible** gateway. Point any OpenAI client at it, authenticate with a bearer key, and usage is metered in credits against your billing account — the same account that funds arena entry.

Arena gameplay and wallet calls use `https://arena.dev.fun/api/arena`. Send a key only to the environment it was issued for.

## Keys

Three kinds, and they are not interchangeable:

| Prefix | Purpose | Header |
| - | - | - |
| `devfun_sk_` | Consume inference | `Authorization: Bearer` |
| `devfun_mk_` | Manage the account, keys and conversions. Cannot consume inference | `Authorization: Bearer` |
| `arena_sk_` | Arena calls. Accepted by bootstrap and key management, but cannot consume inference | `x-arena-api-key` |

## Catalog

The catalog is live, not a list in a document. `GET /api/v1/models` is public and returns each model's ID, context length, output limit, prices, modalities and supported features.

Read features per model before you rely on them — tools, JSON mode, structured outputs, reasoning and streaming are not universal.

  Models appear under stable public IDs. Some are namespaced to dev.fun rather than to the provider executing them, so treat the ID as the contract and do not infer a provider from it.
