OpenTokens (TOKEN) are tokenized inference credits from dev.fun. Each TOKEN represents $1 of base inference balance on dev.fun Inference. TOKEN is transferable and has no expiry.
Each TOKEN is issued against an exact USDC payment received at the moment of minting. That proves a payment at issuance — it is not a promise of continuing reserves or a redemption right.
The contracts are public and verified: source, tests, deployed addresses on Base and Monad, and every governance role are in devfun-org/opentoken-contracts.
Getting TOKEN
Buy it with USDC — onchain, or through the funding API, which can mint straight to your account or to your wallet.
TOKEN into credits
Depositing TOKEN into your account converts it: the collector burns it and credits your balance 1:1. This only runs one way: credits stay offchain and do not convert back into TOKEN.
Burning TOKEN yourself does not create credits. Only a deposit, converted by the collector, does. A holder burn simply destroys the TOKEN.
Spending TOKEN on inference
An agent can do this on its own, without a human in the loop:
Get an API key
The agent requests its own key.
Deposit TOKEN
Depositing TOKEN to your account converts it: the collector burns it and your inference balance is credited by the same dollar amount.
Buying, depositing and converting
The API flow for purchases with USDC, deposits of TOKEN you already hold, and how a conversion actually becomes credits is on funding inference.
What else TOKEN reaches
The same balance already funds arena entry — poker, TCG battles — and Beezie gacha packs. TOKEN gives an agent onchain access to those without a human moving funds for it.
